Method #1: Disable Enhanced Protected Mode
The enhanced protected mode is a new feature of Internet Explorer 10. It works by extending the existing functionality in protected mode to prevent attackers from installing software, accessing personal information, accessing information from corporate intranets and modifying system settings. These restrictions can cause problems with the browsing experience when using Internet Explorer. When you disable enhanced protected mode, its operation in Internet Explorer may improve but could pose a risk for possible attacks.
To disable enhanced protected mode follow these steps:
- Open the Internet Explorer
- Click on Tools, and then click on Internet Options
- Go to the Advanced tab, then find and uncheck the box Enable Enhanced Protected Mode
- Click on Apply and OK to save the changes

To delete the browsing history in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
- Open Internet Explorer from the desktop.
- Press Alt to display the menu bar.
- On the Tools menu, click on Internet Options.

Method #4: Check Proxy Settings
Proxy settings are used to tell Internet Explorer the network address of an intermediary server (known as a proxy server) that is applied between the browser and the Internet on some networks. Changing proxy settings is something that you usually only have to do if you connect to the Internet through a corporate network. By default, Internet Explorer automatically detects proxy settings. However, if this value has been changed and you don’t attempt to connect to a corporate network, you may experience connection problems. - Open Internet Explorer, and then on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
- In the Internet Explorer Default Settings dialog box, click Reset.
- In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
- Click on Close, and then click OK twice.

The changes will take effect the next time you start Internet Explorer.
Method #6: Check Program or Antivirus Conflicts Internet Explorer
Some third-party antivirus programs may cause problems connecting to the Internet Explorer network. Remove any 3rd party antivirus from your system according to the instructions given by the developers of those programs.
To determine if a third-party program or service conflicts with Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

- Go to the Services tab and check the box Hide all Microsoft services
- Click on Disable all to disable all services at startup.

If the connection works, a third-party program or service may conflict with Internet Explorer. To identify the service or program, follow these steps:
- Press the keys Winkey + R, type the command msconfig and press Enter

- Check some services, and then click OK .
- Restart your computer, and then try again to open a website in Internet Explorer.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 until you identify the service that conflicts with Internet Explorer.
If you any of the services conflicts with Internet Explorer, go to the Startup tab and enable some items and restart your computer to troubleshoot any conflicting software.
Connection still doesn’t work
If the connection still does not work, re-enable all the programs and services. To re-enable all programs and services, follow these steps:
- Press the keys Winkey + R
- Type the command msconfig and press Enter
- Go to the Services tab and click on Enable All
- Go to the Startup tab and click on Enable All
- Click on OK and restart your computer
