How to [Fix] Microsoft Store Not Working in Windows 10 or 8

Windows Store is an addition introduced by in Microsoft in Windows 8 and consists of an official store where you can purchase both free and paid applications and that you can install on your different devices.

Like any software, problems can arise. Sometimes they are problems with easy solution and, in others, it takes a long time to discover where the error is and how to solve it.

Method #1: Microsoft Store Troubleshooter

The first thing we will do is run the Windows Store troubleshooter. For this in the following link download the file from the official Microsoft page.

  2. Next, it will start checking for errors related to the applications.

Sometimes it’s not able to solve the problems so check the other options below.

Method #2: Troubleshoot Windows Store Updates

This method works when you have problems with Windows Store updates.

The first thing we will do is to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter directly from the following link:

  1. Run the file as administrator
  2. Click on Next to start the analysis
  3. At the end of the analysis, you will see the problems encountered and possible solutions.

If you can not find a solution, explore other options or restart the process.

Method #3: Fix Microsoft Store Clearing Cache

Occasionally, the apps cache contains files with errors

  1. First, clear the Microsoft Store cache pressing the following keys Winkey + R to open Run
  2. Now type the following command: wsreset.exe and press Enter
  3. After a few seconds a black window will appear, and then Microsoft Store will open.

As you can see, this option is speedy and straightforward.

Method #4: Re-register Microsoft Store

Keep in mind that Microsoft Store cant be uninstalled from the System, so a solution to this is to re-register it in the System.

  1. The first thing we will do is enter the word Powershell in the Windows Search and right click on Windows Powershell and select Run as Administrator

  2. Now type the following command inside the PowerShell depending on the OS and press Enter.

For Windows 10: "& {$ Manifiesto = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore) .InstallLocation + '\ AppxManifest.xml'; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Registro $ manifiesta}"

For Windows 8: Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Registro $ env: SystemRoot \ Winstore \ AppxManifest.XML

Once you have done this, restart your pc and open the Microsoft Store, hopefully, your problem will have been solved.

With these simple methods, you should be able to fix the majority of errors in the Microsoft Store.
